This full-color illustrated book tells the story of Luba Tryszynska, who in December 1944 was a young Jewish prisoner at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. She heard the cries of forty-six abandoned children and for four months helped keep them alive by providing warmth, shelter, and motherly love. This book tells her story, the story of an everyday hero who cared more about herself than others. Help children learn about this amazing woman as well as the Holocaust and the history of concentration camps.
